Bathrooms with flair:

To me, you can never have too many cubbies...
A great use of a narrow space. There are so many fabulous details for such a little room!
The green tile isn't for everyone...but I kind of like it.

Pieces of art for your feet:

I am literally drooling over these shoes. Spotted in W magazine, these sexy Vouelle stilettos, "Eva," are to die for. Vouelle Paris currently offers a smouldering cocktail shoe line as well as a more dainty, lady-like wedding collection - all so very crème de la crème.

Artist Spotlight: Charley Harper

Charley Harper's piece above makes me want to visit the zoo; I love it! If you're in Dallas, TX, you're a lucky duck - his exhibition of original pieces and vintage serigraphs runs through April at The Public Trust.

Artist spotlight: Chris Hartsfield

A couple of summers ago, I laid eyes on Chris Hartsfield's paintings at the Virginia-Highland Arts Festival for the first time, and it was love at first sight. His paintings are incredible; his use of color and the way he is able to depict photorealism, especially through light and glass, is absolute genius. I think his works' witty titles are another reason why I love his art; they all bring a big smile to my face. Some of my favorites:

"Redheads"
"What's your point?"
"2oz. polish, 2lbs elbow grease"
These works and MANY more (including landscapes, street scenes, floral and nautical scenes) can be found and purchased online at Chris Hartsfield's website.

You're my lobster.

Today is that much sweeter because I got a shout-out on Etsy from Knitster23; she added my "You're my lobster" card to her lobster themed "Treasury West" on the site. Etsy can seem like such a huge, overwhelming network at times, so it's so awesome when people take the time to recognize your work. Yay!

Happy Friday + Fun Finds!

IT'S FRIDAY and it's 5 o clock. YEAH. This week has been a super LONG once work-wise, but hey, I am thankful I have a job in this tough economy. The weekend promises great times: dinner with my man at Engine 11 (a new Atlanta tavern in an old fire engine building), hanging with friends and possibly attending a dance party at my favorite dive bar, the Cavern, and estate sale shopping with my mom and dad on Saturday. It doesn't get much better than that! And of course, to round up the week, a couple of my fun finds......
  • Are Big and Carrie going to have kids in the next SATC movie?
  • Do you get Daily Candy? It's like a daily treat waiting for me in my inbox.
  • Check out these delicate and oh-so ladylike headbands from the talented ladies of Tree & Kimball
  • Not sure what to make of Ri-Ri's new tattoo; not so sure I agree that it really screams, "strength," but....I still gotta love her.

Happy Friday! Wish me luck on my treasure hunting tomorrow... ;)

A $5 (and FABULOUS) wedding dress!

HOLY MOLY - Joanna Goddard's friend, Angie, pictured above, found a $5 wedding dress at a used-clothing warehouse in Montreal. As Angie says, "I found the dress shoved in a box," she says. "It's from the 50's, it's gorgeous, and it fits me. I bought the dress, matching jacket and veil for $5. I feel like I won the lottery!" Amazing. What a find! It's stories like this that feed my addiction to rummage through junk at thrift stores...

Every room should have a POP of color:

Forget the bright blue wall; I'm feeling the framed picture behind the retro lamp.
Colorful accents just belong in kitchens. These pictures make me think of a rainbow.
A refreshing sky blue wall in a mostly white bathroom.
I don't usually like yellow on the walls...but it works so well here with the red accents.
A Domino editor's living room in Brooklyn, NY (because that's just how obsessed I was with the mag). I think the photo collage is definitely cool.

Decorating with WORDS:

Words to hang. ffffound
2008 top searches on Google throw pillow - found at elasticCo's etsy shop"Kissing Checklist," by Rachel - as seen on Joanna Goddard's blog

A unique, personal wedding guest book idea:

This custom made guest book, created online at blurb.com, is fabulous! The wedding couple apparently made it for a total of $25, incorporating different artifacts from their six-year courtship (such as ticket stubs and receipts). As seen on the lovely Snippet and Ink's blog.

Katy Perry's kitschy, pin-up cool:

I love Katy Perry and her off-the-wall style. She's not afraid of anything, and she always manages to pull it all off. That panda dress would make most girls look 5 years old again....but it is just too stinkin cute on her. And I honestly ADORE the Vegas dress (and headband). Too. stinkin. cute.

Needlepoint: not just for your grandmother's couch anymore

My favorite, the Studio 54 VIP ticket pillow
From Dad's LPs to today's iPods
Liza
I am loving these one-of-a-kind needlepoint pillows and cases by the brilliant Jonathan Adler.

Window shutter memo boards

I have wanted to buy an old window shutter from places like flea markets or antique markets in the past, but I've always wondered what to do with them. A room divider, sure, but that seems so boring when you could make one of these fabulous memo boards. One man's junk is truly another man's treasure...

Hangin with Mr. Cooper...the kitten:

Lindsay's new kitty - Cooper! He is the cutest little thing I've ever seen -besides B, of course :) - doesn't the picture of him sleeping look like something you'd see on a kitten calendar? Since Coop has some major white "eyeliner" going on, she decided he needed an edgy name. Lindsay's mom suggested Cooper, as in Alice Cooper, and it fit perfectly.

Pastry Masterpieces!

My favorite - the Finding Nemo cake!!
Lately I've been watching the Food Network Challenge on Sunday nights before Big Love comes on, and Sunday's Battle of the Brides cake episode was a pretty good one. It is truly amazing what some of these pastry chefs are capable of creating with some sugar, flour and water! Isn't the Finding Nemo cake incredible?!

Artist Spotlight: Olly Moss

Via ffffound, one of my favorite photo/design blogs, I discovered the works of the talented Olly Moss. Apparently born in 1987 (sheesh!), the young Brit has an impressive list of clients (including the New York Times and Urban Outfitters). I think my favorite sketch is the cool llama in shades.

St. Patty's pictures at last!

with Douglas and Brett @ P'Cheen in Atlanta
James and me @ P'Cheen
TRISHA!
Competing in the beer pong tournament in Sav - we won twice, thankyouverymuch! ;)
Lindsay, moi and Shari @ the old Savannah Blues in Sav
Finally, pictures a la St. Patty's Day in Savannah and in Atlanta @ P'Cheen. It was good times and lots of green beer for all!

Happy Friday + Fun Finds!

HAPPY FRIDAY. It has been a long week, and I couldn't be happier to have a couple of days to relax. To wrap up the week, here are a few of my favorite finds....
  • Lindsay will be having an engagement party before we know it. Aren't these cute shower/engagement party invites?
  • Irony, just one of the many ways to be cool, (hehe!)
  • Am I the only person who hadn't seen Christian the Lion on YouTube? Precious.
  • Lindsay is shopping for a kitty this weekend - save a puppy or kitty at your local Humane Society!

Have a wonderful weekend!
