Voilà! My guest book pen creation - at last! I spotted some hand-dyed ribbon at Paper-Source a few moths ago, and I didn't quite know what I was going to do with it...All I knew that it was teal & brown, gorgeous, and I was gonna find some way to incorporate it into my wedding. At $3.50ish a yard, I only bought about 2 yards at the time. When Lindsay and I made her guest book pen a couple of weeks ago, I got the idea to make a similar pen for myself, but with another one of my most favorite things - peacock feathers. I put the feathers next to the pen, wrapped floral tape around the stems to keep them stuck to the pen's (slippery) surface, and after that was in place, I wrapped my hand-dyed ribbon around the pen until I got to the top, tying several bows to use up the rest of the ribbon. I'm quite happy with it, and happy I was able to use my lovely ribbon, too!
Have a happy happy weekend! xo
That's lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHello Natalie, may I know the tutorial of ur wedding pen?
ReplyDeleteHi Davina -- really, you just hold the ribbon in place at the bottom of the pen with a dab of glue, and wrap very tightly until you get to the top. At the top, tie a big bow, and stick the peacock stems in to the top of the pen (inside the ribbon) until they're tucked inside securely. I bought the ribbon -- about a yard -- at Paper-source.com and the feathers at Michaels Crafts. I hope this helps!
