I absolutely squealed to myself when I came across this fantastic DIY little girl's play kitchen over at Knock-Off Wood. I mean, can you even believe how adorable this is?! Kristen, mother of 4 kids under 6 years old (whew), managed to make this play kitchen in about a month and a half for only $127. The knobs on the stove are drawer knobs from Hobby Lobby, the sink skirt was sewn with pretty fabrics from a local fabric store, and the sink is a doggie bowl, to name a few of her genius accessory ideas for the project.
A while ago I blogged about Pottery Barn's retro-inspired pink play kitchen, that I'm still obsessed with, but it is so expensive! ($500-$700). It's nice to know that one day, if I'm lucky enough to have a little girl of my own, I could possibly make a cute little kitchen for her for only a fraction of the price. Do Kristen's plans still look a bit daunting to you? Check out Sharla's DIY play kitchen made from an old nightstand. Brilliant!
