My friend Pana asked me to make silhouettes for her family, including her hubs Jayce and fluffy kitty Bella (and come January, another wee silhouette will be added to the mix! Woohoo!) I happily got to work -- because silhouettes are so darn easy. Anyone can make them; no matter how well you wield a pair of scissors. And best of all, the process takes under a minute to complete. So, let's get started, shall we? First up, the supply list:
1. Simple simple. You'll need a sharp pair of scissors, a stapler and a sheet of black scrapbook paper.
2. Take profile pictures of your family and pet, and print out the photos on regular computer paper.
It doesn't matter if your photos are in color or black and white.
3. Roughly cut out the photos and staple them to the black sheet of paper.
A couple of staples at the top and bottom of the photo should work fine.
4. Next, carefully cut the silhouette, following the contours of the person (or pet's!) profile. I find it's easier if you start at the back of the head.
Use one hand to hold the paper steady as the other cuts through both sheets of paper.
And ta-da...
That's all there is to it! Easy, right?
If you make your own silhouettes, be sure to leave a link to your photos in the comments!
