Weekend: Halloween dance party

This weekend we went to the best Halloween dance party at our friends' house, and we had so much fun. Our friends love Halloween, and they put their all into the decor, the food and the music. It was so dark that it was tough to take good pictures, but it was a stellar Halloween party. I loved checking out all the creative costumes -- Bob Ross was probably my fave of the night -- why have I never thought of that before?! Amazing. James went all out as his fave TV character -- Dexter -- and I dressed up as a Girl Scout. I thrifted a vintage Girl Scout blouse and pin awhile ago, planning to bust them out this Halloween. I made a sash with iron-on patches, and finished it off with a thrifted eagle pin. All that was missing was a big box of Thin Mints. How much fun is it to piece together a Halloween costume all on your own? We had a blast and a few good belly laughs for sure. (Although I was a little scared of the syringe James swiped from work. Even though that sucker had a cap on the whole night, I was terrified that it would somehow come loose and I would get pricked with the needle. Now that's scary!)

How was your weekend? Did you get in the spirit and dress up for the spookiest holiday of the year?

  1. Wow! You more than did the party justice with those pictures; I'm shocked you got such great ones in the dark. You are my photo-taking, bloggy hero.

Also: Bob Ross was great, but Dexter was kind of my fav. That or 'horses and bayonets.'
